Leadership & Organisational Consulting
Leadership at the edge of change
The most important changes happen in the in-between — in transitions, threshold moments, and the space where something old is ending and something new has not yet begun.
Most leadership advice is about arriving: decide faster, align sooner, resolve. Almost none is about the doorway — the disorienting, ambivalent stretch between who you were and who you're becoming, where the real change quietly happens.
That in-between has a name. Liminal.
We work with leaders, teams, and organisations navigating complexity, change, and transformation. We hold the space where leaders do their hardest work: transitions, identity shifts, and the moments a system stops fitting the task in hand or the person inside it. Our practice is grounded in the systems-psychodynamic tradition, on deep experience in executive coaching, and a commitment to rigorous, embodied practice.
The practice
We pay as much attention to what is not being said as to what is. Dynamics, defences, and patterns below the surface are often where the real work lives.
We work with leaders in the context of the roles they hold and the systems they inhabit — not just as individuals, but as people with authority and accountability.
The best leadership development is not purely intellectual. We work with the whole person — including how change is experienced in the body and in relationship.
is founded on the belief that leadership defies cookie-cutter solutions and shortcuts; it is hard work and requires sustained personal and relational effort.
We believe that becoming a better leader is some of the most important work anyone can do — and that it requires courage, honesty, and a willingness to work at the edge of what is comfortable and known.
Our practice draws on the systems-psychodynamic tradition, which holds that organisations are best understood as systems with both rational and emotional dimensions — and that sustainable change requires working with both.
What we offer
Each engagement is tailored to the specific challenge, context, and people involved. We do not offer programmes off the shelf.
01
One-to-one coaching for senior leaders navigating complexity, transformation, role transitions, authority challenges, and questions of leadership identity. We work with what is happening in the context of the roles leaders hold and the systems they inhabit — not just as individuals.
02
Working with leadership teams and boards on systemic dynamics and strategic change. We help organisations understand what is happening beneath the presenting problem — and what it will take to address it.
03
High-performing teams are not just technically skilled — they have the capacity to work honestly with difference, conflict, and uncertainty. We work with teams on the relational and psychological dimensions of team performance.
"The liminal is not a problem to be solved or an anxious waiting room to hurry through. It is the place where meaningful change becomes possible."— On the nature of threshold work
Our founder
Leadership Consultant & Executive Coach
Thalia Tzanetti is a leadership consultant and executive coach with extensive experience working with senior leaders, boards, and leadership teams in complex organisations.
She founded Liminal. on the conviction that real leadership development happens at the edges — in the moments of transition, disruption, and uncertainty that most organisations work hard to manage away. Her approach draws on the systems-psychodynamic tradition and on her own experience as an executive and management consultant, working with diverse organisations internationally.
Thalia has trained as an Executive Coach with INSEAD, the Tavistock Institute of Human Relations and TPC Leadership. She works with INSEAD's MBA and Executive Education programmes, coaching students and executives, both as groups and individually.
Thalia brings 11+ years of experience in management consulting, with BCG and PwC, focusing mostly on large-scale transformations and change, supporting senior leaders and organisations from different countries. Prior to her consulting and coaching career, she worked with several organisations, including the United Nations, the European Union, the US Military Academy (West Point) and the Greek Ministries of Foreign Affairs and the Interior.
She works in English and Greek, and takes clients internationally.
